Duplicate one or more tasks

It’s easy to duplicate one task or a series of tasks within any project, saving you the time and effort of manually creating each new one.

Duplicate a single task

  1. Right-click on a task.
  2. Select Duplicate.
  3. If the task has comments, choose to either Duplicate comments or Exclude comments.

A copy of the task (including all its sub-tasks) will be created below the original.

  1. Tap on a task to open the task view.
  2. Tap the three-dots_android.svg three dots icon.
  3. Select Duplicate task.

It’s currently not possible to duplicate tasks on Windows 10. We plan to make this available in a future update.

Duplicate multiple tasks at once

  1. To select a range of tasks, hold down the shift key and click on the first and last task you want to duplicate. To select tasks that aren’t next to each other on the list, hold the command key (macOS) or control key (Windows) and click on each of the individual tasks you want to duplicate.
  2. Click on More… in the menu that appears at the top of your Todoist.
  3. Select Duplicate.
  4. If any of the tasks have comments, choose to either Duplicate comments or Exclude comments.

A copy of the tasks (including all their sub-tasks) will be created below each of the originals.

  1. At the top right of a project, label, or filtered view tap the three-dots_android.svg three dots icon.
  2. Tap on Select tasks.
  3. Tap on tasks to select them. Selected tasks will be highlighted.
  4. Tap the three-dots_android.svg three dots icon at the bottom right.
  5. Select Duplicate.

A copy of the tasks (including all their sub-tasks) will be created below each of the originals.

It’s currently not possible to duplicate tasks on Windows 10. We plan to make this available in a future update.
It’s currently not possible to duplicate multiple tasks on iOS. We plan to make this available in a future update.
You can also duplicate whole projects by creating project templates.
