If you're using Todoist on your computer – or in a browser on your mobile device – you can quickly and easily change the name of a project by opening the project and clicking the project title.
Whether you need to correct a typo or you've completely changed the title, here’s how to edit a project name in Todoist:
- Hover over the project you want to rename and click on the three dots icon that appears to the right of its name.
- Select Edit project from the drop-down menu.
- Enter the new name.
- Click Save.
- Swipe up the bottom app bar to open the menu.
- At the bottom of your project list, tap Manage projects.
- Tap the project you want to rename.
- Tap the three dots icon in the top-right corner.
- Tap Edit.
- Type the new name for the project in the Name field.
- Tap the checkmark icon in the top-right to save your changes.
- At the top left of your Todoist, tap the menu icon.
- Under Projects, find and swipe (from right to left) the name of the project you want to rename.
- Tap the pencil icon.
- Type the new name for the project in the Name field.
- Tap Done in the top-right to save your changes.
If your iOS device is using version iOS 13 or above, you can also change a project's name by using the project's context menu.
- Click on the project you want to rename.
- Click on the three dots icon in the top-right.
- Select Edit project from the drop-down menu.
- Type the new name for the project in the Name field.
- Click Save.
You can also add some variety to your projects by changing the project color.
