Enrolled students, educational professionals and educational organizations are eligible for a 70% discount on Todoist Business to help keep them organized and on track as they work towards one of life’s most important goals.

How to apply for the discount

If you’re an enrolled student, educational professional, or educational organization and are interested in applying for the 70% discount, here’s how to submit an application:

  1. You or your organization will need a Todoist Business account before applying for the discounted pricing. You can learn more about Todoist Business by reviewing our pricing page.
    • If you already have a Todoist Business account, skip straight to step 2.
    • If you have a Todoist Free or Todoist Premium account, you can easily convert to Todoist Business without losing any of your data by starting a 30 day free trial.
    • If you don’t have a Todoist or Todoist Business account, you can start your free Todoist Business trial here.
  2. Fill out the application form at You’ll be asked to include the following information:
    • Your name
    • Your email address (.edu or local equivalent preferred)
    • Your Todoist Business team name
    • Your Todoist Business account email (make sure it’s the administrator’s email associated with your team’s Todoist Business account, not necessarily your own email address)
    • Your organization/school/institution’s name
    • Your organization/school/institution’s website
    • Your organization/school/institution’s location (state/province, country)
    • A brief description of the institution or project you will be using Todoist Business with
    • Official documentation to prove eligibility. Examples of sufficient documentation include up to date, valid versions of any of the following or their local equivalent: Student or faculty ID, screenshot of student or faculty profile page, most recent report card or transcript, enrollment certificate/verification or relevant employment letter

How the discount works

We will review your application and get back to you within 10 business days.

Once you’re approved, the discount will automatically be applied to your Todoist Business billing from that point on for a full year. Any invoices you incur over the next year will be charged at 30% of the full cost. This applies to both annual and monthly Todoist Business subscriptions.

  • If you’re new to Todoist Business and are still on your 30 day trial when you’re approved, your first charge will be discounted by 70%. If you apply in the final few days of your trial, we may not have time to review your application and apply the discount to your first charge. Be sure to apply as early as possible.
  • If you’re an existing Todoist Business customer, your next invoice will be charged at 30% once your application has been approved.

If your approval is denied, we will email you directly to let you know. You can then cancel your Todoist Business account if necessary.


Q: Can I get the discount applied to Todoist Premium?

A: Unfortunately, this discount can only be applied to Todoist Business due to the way backend payments are handled.

Converting your Todoist Premium account to Todoist Business will not affect your existing projects or tasks in any way.

Q: How much will I pay with the discount?

A: The exact price differs depending on your currency and whether you've signed up for an annual or monthly subscription. For example: 

  • If you pay in USD for an annual subscription, your invoice would be $60 per user per year without the discount. With the discount, that price would drop to $18 per user per year (30% of the full price).
  • If you pay in USD for a monthly subscription, your invoice would be $6 per user per month without the discount. With the discount, that price would drop to $1.8 per user per month (30% of the full price).

After you've been approved for the discount, you'll be able to see your updated invoice (with the discount) in the Account and Billing tab in your account (you'll also be able to check other information such as your selected currency and upcoming date of invoice).

Q: Can the discount apply to fees that I’ve already paid? Will it be prorated?

A: No, we cannot provide refunds for invoices you’ve already paid. The discount will not be prorated in any way, either. However, we will certainly apply the full discount to all future payments.

This also applies to the end of your free trial. If we approve your application after your 30-day free trial is over, we will not be able to reimburse you for the first month. That’s why it’s important to apply as early as possible.

Q: I’ve sent my application but haven’t heard back yet. How long does it take?

A: We will try to respond to inquiries within 10 business days. If it’s been over 10 business days, please contact our support team.

Q: What is my “Todoist Business Team Name” and where can I find it?

A: Your Todoist Business Team Name is the team name you used when you signed up for your Todoist Business account. If you have forgotten your Todoist Business team name, you can find it by logging into your Todoist admin console using the instructions below:

  • On the web, log into Todoist. Make sure you are logging in from the admin account for this Todoist Business team.
  • Click the gear icon in the top-right corner.
  • Select Todoist Business Admin.
  • Click the Account and Billing link to the left.
  • Your account name will be found under Team Name.

Q: What if I can’t provide the requested information to prove my educational status? Can I still get the discount?

A: If you cannot prove your educational status using the documentation above, we will not be able to approve the discount. We will not be able to make any exceptions.

Q: What if I change my Todoist Business admin email address? What if I want to transfer ownership to another admin?

A: Your discount will apply to the Todoist Business account, not the email address itself. So as long as that account is active, it will still have the discount.

Q: How long is the discount period, and what happens when my discount period is up?

A: Your discount is good for 1 year from the date of approval, and we’ll send you a reminder about your discount status 14 days prior to expiration.

If you want to continue your discount without interruption, make sure to submit your application at least 10 days prior to expiration by visiting and following the same steps as you did before.

If you fail to re-apply in time and your discount runs out, you can still re-apply by visiting and following the same steps as you did before.

If you’re no longer a student, you can simply let your subscription transition to a regular Todoist Business account where you’ll be billed at the standard rate. Do this by letting your account automatically renew itself.

You can also downgrade your account at any time and continue using all of Todoist’s basic features for free.

Q: What happens if I’m no longer a student?

A: If you’re no longer a student or education professional, you can continue using Todoist’s advanced features at the standard rateJust let your subscription renew and you’ll automatically be charged the full price for the coming year.
