Looking for a smooth way to manage and reference tasks across Todoist? Open multiple windows in the desktop app to keep different views or tasks open at the same time, or float a Todoist window above the rest to keep it within easy reach at all times.
Open a new window of your Home view
- Open the Todoist desktop app.
- Use the keyboard shortcut Shift ⇧ + Option ⌥ + Cmd ⌘ + N to open a new Home view.
- Open the Todoist desktop app.
- Use the keyboard shortcut Shift + Alt + Ctrl + N to open a new Home view.
Open a project in a new window
- Open the Todoist desktop app.
- Click the three dots icon next to the project name in the sidebar.
- Select Open in new window.
Use Shift ⇧ + Cmd ⌘ + N to open the current view in a new window.
- Open the Todoist desktop app.
- Click the three dots icon next to the project name in the sidebar.
- Select Open in new window.
Use Shift + Ctrl + N to open the current view in a new window.
Open a task in a new window
- Open the Todoist desktop app.
- Click the three dots icon next to the task that you want to open.
- Select Open in new window.
- Open the Todoist desktop app.
- Click the three dots icon next to the task that you want to open.
- Select Open in new window.
Float Todoist on top
Float any Todoist window to keep it visible at all times for easy reference.
- Open the Todoist desktop app.
- Click Window in the top bar.
- Click Float on top (Option ⌥ + Cmd ⌘ + F).
- Open the Todoist desktop app.
- Use Ctrl + F11.
