If Todoist isn't the right tool for what you want to achieve, and you don't want to use it again in the future, you may choose to delete your account. Deleting your account will delete all your Todoist data including tasks, projects, labels, filters, comments, files, etc.

If you delete your account, you will not be able to restore it or any data associated with the account.

Permanently delete your account

Follow these steps to delete your Todoist account:

  1. Log in at https://todoist.com.
  2. Click your avatar in the top-left.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. If you logged in using Google, Facebook, or Apple login, add a Todoist password first.
  5. Click Delete account.
  6. Enter your password.
  7. Confirm by selecting Delete account.
  8. If you've set up two-factor authentication for your account, enter the one-time passcode.

  1. Tap on Browse in the bottom-right.
  2. Tap the gear icon in the top-right.
  3. Select Account.
  4. If you logged in using Google, Facebook, or Apple login, add a Todoist password first.
  5. Tap Delete Account.
  6. Enter your password.
  7. Tap Delete.
  8. If you've added an authenticator, enter your authentication code.

  2. Tap the gear icon in the top-right.
  3. Tap Account.
  4. If you logged in using Google, Facebook, or Apple login, add a Todoist password first.
  5. Tap Delete Account.
  6. Tap Continue.
  7. Enter your password.
  8. Tap Delete.
  9. If you've added an authenticator, enter your authentication code. 
If you've signed up for Pro through the App Store or Google Play, please make sure to cancel your Todoist subscription in the respective store to prevent further charges.

FAQ

It says my password is incorrect, but I'm sure it matches my Google, Facebook, or Apple login. What's wrong?

In order to delete your account, you will need to enter the password that's linked to your Todoist account, not the password linked to your Google, Facebook, or Apple account. If you haven't added a password yet, you can do so by following these instructions or resetting your Todoist password.

What should I do if I can't find the Settings menu to delete my account?

To delete your account, make sure you are logged into your Todoist account at https://app.todoist.com. The Settings menu is available under your avatar in the top-left.

I've deleted the app from my device, will my Todoist account be deleted?

No, deleting the app alone will not delete your Todoist account. To ensure your account is deleted, follow the steps listed above.
