As you successfully complete tasks on time in Todoist, you’ll gain Karma points and achieve new Karma levels.
You can see your current Karma points and level by selecting the Karma tab from the Productivity view on any platform.
You earn Karma when you:
- Add tasks.
- Complete tasks on time.
- Use advanced features like labels, recurring due dates, and reminders.
You earn bonus Karma when you:
- Reach your daily and weekly task goals.
- Achieve new daily and weekly streaks.
You lose Karma when you:
- Have tasks that are 4 or more days overdue.

To see how you’ve accumulated Karma points over the last week, look at your Karma trend.
To change your Karma settings, daily goals and more, use the Productivity settings.
Q: Can I turn Karma off?
A: Yes. Turn off Karma from the Productivity menu by toggling Karma to off.
Q: How can I prevent breaking my streak?
A: If you've got a streak and you don't want to lose it when you take time off, for example, you can do that by turning off Karma while you're away.
When you turn off Karma, you are still expected to complete your daily task goal for that day. So turn off your Karma on a day after you've completed your daily goal. The next day will not count towards your streak. For instance, if you're taking the weekend off, you can start by completing your goals on Friday and then turning off your Karma. Saturday and consecutive days will not count towards your Karma until you turn it back on.
When it's time to come back, make sure to turn your Karma back on early in the morning on a day where you will complete your daily goal. For instance, if you've just taken the weekend off and want to resume your streak, turn your Karma back on early Monday morning, then complete that day's daily goal. Your streak will continue unbroken.
