Turn your Apple device into your productivity center with the Todoist widget. Whether you’re checking your list on your iPhone or managing projects on your Mac, the Todoist widget lets you add tasks quickly, check your goals, and see what’s due for today.
Add a Todoist widget
Add the widget to your desktop, home screen, or lock screen, so you can quickly check what’s next, no matter where you go.

- Touch and hold anywhere on your Home Screen until your apps start to wiggle.
- Tap the Add button on the top-left.
- Scroll down and tap the Todoist icon.
A menu will open where you can swipe to choose the widget you want to add — Tasks, Productivity, or Add Task:

Tasks widget: Available as a small, medium, or large widget. This widget gives you a compact overview of all tasks in a certain view, like Today or Upcoming, or a project, filter, or label.
On iOS 17, you can complete tasks directly from the medium and large Tasks widget.
- Productivity widget: Available as a medium widget. This widget gives you an overview of your current productivity stats, like how close you are to reaching your daily or weekly goals, as well as your current Karma score.
- Add Task widget: Available as a small widget. This widget lets you open Quick Add from your iOS Home Screen, so you can quickly add a new task to Todoist.
Add a lock screen widget
If your device is running iOS 16 or above, you'll be able to add widgets to your Lock Screen.
- Touch and hold the Lock Screen.
- Tap Customize.
- Tap Lock Screen.
- Tap Add Widgets.
- Scroll down and select Todoist.
- Tap or drag the widget you want to add:
- Tasks: View tasks from your task list of choice.
- Today's Progress: Check in on today's progress.
- Next Task: View the next upcoming task from your Today view.
- Add Task: Add tasks quickly to Todoist.
- Task Goal: View your daily or weekly task goals.
- Productivity: View your productivity stats.
- Tap the Close button.
- Tap Done in the top-right.
If this is your first time customizing a Lock Screen on your device, you'll need to pick a wallpaper for your Lock Screen. If you've added a customized Lock Screen before, you can edit an existing Lock Screen.

- Touch and hold the Home Screen until your apps begin to jiggle.
- Tap the Add button at the top-right.
- Scroll down and select Todoist.

- Move the widget to where you want on the Home Screen.
- Tap Done at the top-right.
Change the widget settings
If you need something other than your Today list, here’s how to change the settings of the Todoist widget, so it displays information that’s most useful to you.
On macOS, you can only change the Todoist widget size:
- Press ⌃ Control and click the Todoist widget.
- Choose your preferred widget size.
Change the Task widget settings
- Unlock your iOS device.
- Touch and hold the Tasks widget. A context menu will pop up.
- Tap Edit Widget.
- Tap View.
- Select the view you want from the menu that pops up.
- Tap the screen outside of the widget to save your changes.
Change the Add Task widget settings
- Unlock your iOS device.
- Touch and hold the Tasks widget. A context menu will pop up.
- Tap Edit Widget.
- Tap View.
- Enter the task name, project and section, due date, priority level, or label for any task you create with the widget.
- Tap the screen outside of the widget to save your changes.
Remove a Todoist widget
If you no longer want to use the Todoist widget, or you’d like to replace your current widget, here’s how to remove it:
Follow the steps in the Apple support article to remove the Todoist widget from your desktop or Notification Center.
Remove a home screen widget
- Touch and hold the widget to open the context menu.
- Tap Remove Widget.
- Tap Remove to confirm.
Remove a lock screen widget
- Unlock your screen using Face ID or Touch ID.
- Touch and hold the screen.
- Tap Customize.
- Tap Lock Screen.
- Tap the widget you want to remove.
- Tap the minus icon at the top-left of the widget.
- Tap Done at the top-right to confirm.
- Touch and hold the widget to open the context menu.
- Tap Remove Widget.
- Tap Remove.
