With calendar feeds you can see all your scheduled Todoist tasks inside your favorite calendar app: Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook Calendar, and any other calendar that allows you to subscribe with a URL feed.

Google Calendar is currently the only calendar app that allows 2-way sync. All other calendar feeds only sync one way (from Todoist to your calendar). Learn more.

Tasks with just a due date will show up as all-day events while tasks with a due date and time will show up as one-hour blocks in your calendar.

There are two ways to connect your Todoist with your calendar:

Account calendar feed

The account calendar feed syncs all tasks with a due date and/or time across all projects. A new “Todoist” calendar will be created in your calendar app of choice. Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner of your Todoist.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Go to the Integrations tab.
  4. Follow the steps depending on which calendar app you’d like to use:
  5. To integrate with Apple Calendar, click on Apple Calendar and follow the instructions to subscribe.
  6. To integrate with Outlook, click on Outlook and follow the instructions to subscribe.
  7. To integrate via Google Calendar, click Copy to clipboard below the calendar feed URL. Open Google Calendar. On the left, below My Calendars, click the + icon. Select From URL and follow the instructions to add the new calendar.

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to set up a calendar feed using the Windows 10 app. Sorry! We hope to add this in the future.

However, please note that you can still set up a calendar feed through a browser by following the instructions for the web app.

  1. Go to https://todoist.com and sign into your Todoist.
  2. Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Go to the Integrations tab.
  5. To subscribe via Google Calendar, tap Copy to clipboard below the calendar feed URL.
  6. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
  7. Scroll down and tap Passwords & Accounts > Add Account > Other > Add Subscribed Calendar.
  8. Paste in the URL you copied earlier.
  9. Tap Next in the top-right corner.
  10. Rename the calendar if you like, then tap Save. When you open the iOS Calendar app and tap on your available calendars, you should now see the newly added iCal feed subscription under the Subscribed section.

It’s not possible to subscribe to a calendar feed on your Android device yet. You can still follow the instructions to subscribe to a Todoist calendar feed from the web app. Your new Todoist calendar will sync with your mobile calendar app as well.

Project calendar feed

The project calendar feed lets you choose a single project to sync with your calendar. A new calendar will be created for each new project you connect. You can even share project calendar feeds with coworkers, clients, family, or friends.

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Open the project you want to view in your calendar.
  2. In the top-right corner, click on the three dots icon.
  3. Select Project calendar feed.
  4. Follow the steps depending on which calendar app you’d like to use:
  5. To use Apple Calendar, click on Apple Calendar and follow the instructions to subscribe.
  6. To use Outlook, click on Outlook and follow the instructions to subscribe.
  7. To use Google Calendar, click Copy to clipboard below the calendar feed URL. Open Google Calendar. On the left, below My Calendars, click the + icon. Select From URL and follow the instructions to add the new calendar.

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to set up a project calendar feed using Android, iOS or Windows 10. Sorry! We hope to add this option in the future.

However, please note that you can still set up a project calendar feed through a browser by following the instructions for the web app.

FAQ

Q: How often does the calendar feed refresh?

A: How often your feed refreshes depends on the calendar app you use. Some calendar apps update as often as every 5 minutes, whereas others update only once per day.

Q: Can I manually refresh my calendar feed?

A: Unfortunately, it’s only currently possible to manually refresh your calendar feed if you’re using Apple Calendar: If you are using Apple Calendar on macOS, click + r. If you are using Apple Calendar on iOS, open the app and tap Calendars in the bottom of the screen, then pull down the screen to refresh.

Q: Can I change the duration of my tasks in a calendar feed?

A: For now, it is only possible to set custom duration for a task when using the Google Calendar integration

Q: Can I make changes to my tasks via my calendar?

A: No, these calendar feeds only sync one way. Changes you make in Todoist will be reflected in your calendar, but changes you make in your calendar won’t sync back to Todoist. If you’d like your calendar events to sync back to Todoist, please try out our Google Calendar integration.
