When you set up an account, Todoist will automatically detect your system's default language. However, Todoist is available in a wide variety of languages (and we are always adding more), so should you wish to use it in a different language, here is how!

If your language isn't available yet, all's not lost! We're continually working to support more languages and hope to have yours available soon.

Todoist is currently available in the following languages
English Chinese Czech Danish
Dutch Finnish French German
Italian Japanese Korean Norwegian
Polish Portuguese Russian Spanish
Swedish Turkish    

It’s possible to have the app set to different languages across the platforms. For example, you can use the web app in English and your mobile app in Spanish. 

Here’s how to change your language settings in Todoist:

  1. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of Todoist.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Open the General tab.
  4. Click edit next to the current language.
  5. Select your preferred language.
  6. Refresh the webpage/restart the app.

  4. Restart the app.
  1. Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner of Todoist.
  2. In the bottom-left, tap Settings and then General.
  3. Tap on Language and select any available language from the drop-down list.

  2. Select General in Settings.
  3. Tap on Language and select any available language from the drop-down list.
  4. Relaunch the app.

The Smart Date recognition language will be set automatically based on the selected language. In a case where you have chosen a language that our Smart Date recognition doesn’t support yet, it will default to English.
