Add the official Todoist app in ChatGPT to manage your tasks without leaving the conversation. Once it’s connected, ChatGPT can read, create, and update the tasks and projects in your Todoist account, so you can plan your week, capture ideas, or tidy your Inbox right where you’re already chatting.
Before you start
- You’ll need a ChatGPT account.
- You’ll need a Todoist account to sign in to.
Connect Todoist to ChatGPT
- Open ChatGPT.
- Click Apps (or the Apps directory).
- Search for Todoist.
- Select the Todoist app.
- Click Connect.
- Sign in to your Todoist account.
- Approve the requested permissions.
Once the connector is set up, type /todoist in any ChatGPT conversation to bring it up, then describe what you want in plain language.
What you can do with the connector
Once connected, ChatGPT can work with your account in multiple ways, including:
- Read your tasks and projects.
- Create new tasks and projects.
- Update what’s already there, such as renaming a task, shifting its date, or moving it to another project.

Once you’re connected, plain language is enough to get things done.

Privacy and data handling
Connecting the app means your Todoist data moves between Todoist and ChatGPT. On Todoist’s side, that data is covered by Todoist’s privacy policy; once it reaches ChatGPT, it also falls under OpenAI’s privacy policy. You can review the permissions you’ve granted at any time from Todoist’s Settings > Integrations.
Disconnect Todoist from ChatGPT
You can remove the connection from either side:
- From ChatGPT: open Settings > Apps, select Todoist, then select Disconnect.
- From Todoist: open Settings > Integrations, select ChatGPT, then select Remove.
Troubleshooting
The OAuth window doesn’t open or keeps failing
Disable strict pop-up blockers for the sign-in flow and try again.
