You can use Todoist with Gemini Spark by connecting Todoist’s MCP (Model Context Protocol) server as a custom app. Once it’s connected, Gemini Spark can read, create, and update tasks and projects in your Todoist account, so you can plan your week, capture ideas, or tidy your Inbox without leaving the conversation.

Todoist doesn’t currently offer a native Gemini integration. This setup connects Gemini Spark to Todoist through Todoist’s MCP server.

Choose your setup

There are two Google AI setups you can use with Todoist, and each connects in a different way. Check which one you have before you follow any steps.

Starting June 18, 2026, Gemini CLI stopped serving requests for Gemini Code Assist for individuals, Google AI Pro, and Google AI Ultra accounts. Google directs those users to Antigravity CLI instead. Gemini CLI remains available to Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise users, and Google’s Gemini Code Assist setup guide has the current instructions.

Set up Gemini Spark

Before you start

You’ll need:

Access to Gemini Spark. Custom apps are only available in Gemini Spark.
To be 18 or over and in the US.
A personal Google Account. Work and school accounts on Google Workspace can’t use this connection.
Keep Activity turned on in your Gemini settings.
Use Gemini Spark in English. Custom Connected Apps are currently only available in English.
A Todoist account to sign in to.

These are Google’s requirements rather than Todoist’s. If your account doesn’t meet all of them, the option to add a custom app may be missing, or the connection may fail without telling you which requirement wasn’t met. Connect the Todoist MCP server

You can only add a custom app in the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com. Once you’ve connected it there, Todoist works in the Gemini mobile app too.

Go to gemini.google.com in your browser.
Open Settings & help, then select Connected Apps. On some accounts this appears as Personal Intelligence, then Connected Apps.
Select Add a custom app under Custom apps for Spark.
Enter the Todoist MCP server address: https://ai.todoist.net/mcp.
Select Next, then follow the on-screen instructions.
Sign in to your Todoist account.
Approve the requested permissions.

If Gemini shows an Advanced features section asking you to enter your own credentials, you can skip it. That step is for servers that can’t register themselves automatically, and the Todoist MCP server can. See Google’s Connected Apps documentation for details.

Set up Antigravity

Before you start

You’ll need:

Antigravity, Antigravity CLI, or Antigravity IDE installed.
Node.js 24 or later and npm 11 or later.
A Todoist account to sign in to.

Install the Todoist CLI skill

Run these three commands in your terminal:

npm install -g @doist/todoist-cli
td skill install gemini
td auth login

td skill install gemini writes the Todoist skill to ~/.gemini/config/skills/todoist-cli/SKILL.md, the global location read by Antigravity, Antigravity CLI, and Antigravity IDE. td auth login opens your browser to sign in with OAuth, then stores your token in your operating system’s credential manager. Once you’re connected, ask Antigravity in plain language and it runs the right td commands for you. For the full command reference, see the Todoist CLI documentation.

Want Antigravity to read your tasks but never change them? Run td auth login --read-only instead. In read-only mode, any command that would create, update, or delete data is blocked.

Check what Gemini can access

Once connected, Gemini can:

Read your Todoist tasks and projects.
Create tasks and projects.
Update tasks and projects, for example rename, reschedule, or move them to a different project.

Because this connection supports write actions, Gemini Spark can make changes to your Todoist data. Google currently requires you to manually confirm write actions before they’re performed. See Google’s Connected Apps documentation.

Try example prompts

Once you’re connected, plain language is enough to get things done.

Plan your day	What’s overdue across my projects? Suggest three tasks to tackle first. Pull everything due today and help me put it in a realistic order.
Review your week	List my overdue tasks by project and suggest what to reschedule or drop. Show me everything due in the next 7 days and help me choose a realistic plan.
Capture quickly	Add “Email the venue about parking” to my Events project, due Thursday. Create a recurring task to review my goals on the first of every month.
Shape a project	Start a project called “Q3 launch” with sections for Research, Build, and Review. Move my unscheduled Marketing tasks into a “This month” section.
Tidy up	Find tasks with no date in my Work project and suggest deadlines. Turn my vague Inbox tasks into clear next actions.

If you can describe it clearly, Gemini can usually turn it into the right Todoist action. Glance over its work before you confirm.

Review privacy and data handling

Connecting Todoist to Gemini means your data moves between Todoist and Google. On the Todoist side, your data is covered by Todoist’s Privacy Policy. Your use of Gemini is covered by the Gemini Apps Privacy Notice, which supplements Google’s Privacy Policy.

Google doesn’t control, monitor, or secure custom third-party MCP servers. Once your data leaves Gemini, it’s handled according to the connected app’s privacy practices. Only add server addresses you trust, and check that the Todoist address matches the one above.

Disconnect Todoist

If you no longer want to use Todoist in Gemini, disconnect it from both sides.

Remove the custom app in Gemini

Go to gemini.google.com in your browser.
Open Settings & help, then select Connected Apps.
Find Todoist under Custom apps for Spark.
Turn the app’s toggle off to pause the connection. Select More details, then Remove app, to remove it completely.

Removing the app unlinks the server and revokes its permissions.

Remove the connection in Todoist

Open Settings > Integrations in Todoist.
Find the authorization associated with your Gemini connection.
Revoke its access.

If you set up Antigravity with the Todoist CLI, run td auth logout to remove the saved token, then revoke access in Todoist’s Settings > Integrations.

Troubleshoot

Nothing happens when you connect from the Gemini app

Connections have to be set up at gemini.google.com in a browser. The mobile app can use a connection you’ve already made, but it can’t create one. Go to gemini.google.com, connect there, then reopen the app.

You see a generic authentication error

Check that you meet all the requirements under Before you start. You need access to Gemini Spark, must be 18 or over and in the US, must use a personal Google Account, must have Keep Activity turned on, and custom Connected Apps are currently available only in English. The option to add a custom app isn’t there

Custom apps are only available in Gemini Spark, to users who are 18 or over and in the US. If you’re signed in with a Google Workspace account from work or school, switch to a personal Google Account and try again. Google’s Connected Apps documentation lists the current availability requirements.

Gemini is connected but can’t see or change your tasks

Reconnect from both sides. Remove the Todoist custom app in Gemini, then open Todoist’s Settings > Integrations and revoke access for Gemini. Connect again from gemini.google.com.
