The dashboard is the first thing you see when you open Todoist Automations. It greets you by name, and provides a snapshot of your workspace: how many installed or enabled automations you have, how many ran in the last 7 days, how many automations need your attention, and a timeline of recent activity.
Get started with one click
If you’ve just signed up, and haven’t installed anything yet, the dashboard displays a Get started with one click section with a handful of popular automations. If any of these automations fit your needs, click the Install automation to set them up for your account.
Four stat tiles
Once you have at least one automation, the dashboard populates with four stat tiles that provide a summary of your Automations workspace:
- Installed automations: the total number available in your workspace, whether they’re turned on or not.
- Enabled: how many of those are currently turned on.
- Active this week: how many have actually run in the last 7 days.
- Needs attention: how many need a follow-up, for example a broken connection or a run that couldn’t complete.
An Attention needed section will appear below the stat tiles whenever there’s a pending issue with any of your automations. This may be an alert about a run, or a pending question from an automation that needs your input before it can continue. If there are no issues with your automations, this section is hidden from view.
Recent activity
Recent activity is a timeline of your automations’ runs, grouped by day with the most recent first. Each entry shows the automation’s name, when it ran, and a status badge. It also includes a summary of what happened, a way to copy the result, and a View automation link on hover that takes you straight to that automation’s page.
A run’s status badge can be:

|---|---|
| Completed | The run finished successfully. |
| Needs attention | The run failed. |
| Skipped | The run didn’t start because your balance was insufficient. |
| In progress | The run is still in progress. |
| Data expired | The run happened, but its details are no longer stored. |
| Cancelled | The run stopped before it could finish. |
Additional activity you might see here
- No recent runs yet: if you have automations installed, but none have run yet, you’ll see a message here instead of a timeline. It goes away the moment an automation runs for the first time.
- Loading recent activity: this is a brief loading state while Todoist Automations fetches your activity.
- Partial load: if some activity couldn’t be loaded, a note appears with this information above the list. Whatever activity did load is still shown, so nothing is hidden due to the error.
