Todoist Automations connects to any AI assistant that supports Model Context Protocol (MCP), including ChatGPT and Claude. It's a single address that lets AI assistants connect to other apps. Once you connect it, you can create, change, run, and troubleshoot automations by describing what you want in plain language.
This connection is for Todoist Automations only. To let your AI assistant work with your tasks and projects, connect Todoist to an AI assistant instead.
About the Todoist Automations MCP
Todoist Automations works with any MCP client. In your client’s MCP or connector settings, add a server with this endpoint:
https://ai.todoist.net/mcp/automations
Then, sign in to your Todoist account when prompted for your account credentials. The exact steps depend on the client, so check its documentation.

- “Show me all my active automations.”
- “Change my automation to run every morning at 8 AM.”
- “Run my daily summary automation now.”
- “Help me troubleshoot an automation that failed.”
Check your automations in Todoist Automations
Open the Todoist Automations app to view your automations, check their run history, and see whether each run succeeded or failed. You can also turn an automation on or off, or delete it.
