Todoist Automations connects to any AI assistant that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol), including ChatGPT and Claude. MCP is a standard that lets AI assistants connect to other apps. Once you connect it, you can create, change, run, and troubleshoot automations by describing what you want in plain language.
This connection is for Todoist Automations only. To let your AI assistant work with your tasks and projects, connect Todoist to an AI assistant instead.

Use Todoist Automations with your AI assistant
Once you’re connected, ask your AI assistant to work with your automations. For example:
- “Create an automation that sends me a daily summary of my upcoming tasks.”
- “Show me all my active automations.”
- “Change my automation to run every morning at 8 AM.”
- “Run my daily summary automation now.”
- “Help me troubleshoot an automation that failed.”
Check your automations in the Todoist Automations app
Open the Todoist Automations app to view your automations, check their run history, and see whether each run succeeded or failed. You can also turn an automation on or off, or delete it.
Remove Todoist Automations
If you no longer want to use Todoist Automations with your AI assistant, here’s how to remove it. After you remove the connection, you can’t manage or edit your automations through that assistant. Your automations keep running until you turn them off or delete them in the Todoist Automations app.
