Am I eligible to participate?
You’re eligible if you’re using Todoist’s Free plan or Todoist Premium. You can then refer anyone to Todoist and they’ll receive a free trial of Premium for two months. If they purchase a Premium account, you’ll receive a reward of two free months of Premium.
Is the person I am referring to Todoist eligible to participate?
The only qualification for the person you refer is that they must never have purchased Todoist Premium or Todoist Business in the past.
How does it work?
Simply share your referral link with someone, and once they follow the link and sign up or log in, they’ll receive two free months of Todoist Premium.
For every referred person who purchases Premium, you’ll receive a reward of two free months of Premium.
How do I use todoist.com/refer?
- Visit todoist.com/refer to get your unique referral link.
- If you’re not already logged in, you’ll be asked to log in or sign up for Todoist first.
- Share your referral link with someone using whichever service you like: Email, Twitter, Facebook, Messenger or WhatsApp.
- Once someone visits your link, they’ll get their two free months of Todoist Premium.
- If they go ahead and purchase Todoist Premium at any time during or after the trial, you'll earn a reward of two months of Todoist Premium. When this happens, you’ll be notified via email.
- Your reward will automatically be applied to your account.
Q: I am on the Free plan of Todoist, how will my reward be applied?
A: Your reward of two months of free Premium will automatically be applied to your account.
After two months, if you don’t earn more rewards or purchase Todoist Premium, your account will switch back to the Free version.
Q: I am already on the Premium plan and I’ve subscribed via the web, how will my reward be applied?
A: The reward of two months of free Premium will automatically be added to your existing Premium time.
Q: I am already on the Premium plan but I’ve subscribed via an app store (e.g. Apple’s App Store, Google Play Store, etc.). How will my reward be applied?
A: If you’ve subscribed to Todoist Premium through an app store, the reward will automatically be applied to your account.
However, by default, app stores will not apply your credits to your account. To use your credits, you’ll have to turn off auto-renewal by following these instructions. Once this has been done, you will start using up the months of Premium you’ve earned through the Referral program.
After you’ve used up your Premium reward credits, you can continue your subscription normally by manually upgrading again via the app store.
Q: I am a Todoist Business user, can I participate in the Referral program?
A: No, unfortunately, at this time, Todoist Business users cannot participate due to the way that the Referral credit is applied, but we hope to offer an alternative for Todoist Business users in the future.
If you’re a Todoist Business user and you would like to participate in our Referral program, you can change your subscription from Business to Premium by cancelling your current Business subscription, (your remaining Business credit will automatically be converted to Premium time). If you experience any issues when switching plans, please contact our Support team.
Q: How many people can I refer?
A: You can refer an unlimited number of people.
Q: How many rewards can I earn?
A: You can earn 1 reward for each referred person who signs up for Todoist Premium with a maximum of 6 rewards per rolling period of 365 days.
For example, if you refer 100 people to Todoist and 10 of them end up purchasing a Premium subscription, you will receive a total of 6 rewards equal to 12 months of Premium. The remaining 4 rewards will not be credited and will not roll over to next year.
Q: What if I referred someone, they made a purchase, but I never received a reward?
A: No problem – please contact our support team and provide us with the email address that is connected to your Todoist account. In this email, please send us the email address of the person you referred as well, so we can look at his or her referral in our system.
Q: I noticed that the Referral program is only available in English, I’m a non-English speaker, can I still participate?
A: Absolutely, non-English speaking users are more than welcome to participate in the Referral program, however most elements of the Referral program are only in English at this point. We plan to roll it out in other languages in the future.
