On December 1, 2018, we made a handful of changes to Todoist’s plans and pricing. This was the first step in our long-term plan to provide a more simple, value-driven pricing structure to all of our users, no matter which plan they’re on.

Here’s a summary of the changes to Todoist Business that took effect on December 1, 2018:

Todoist Business price change

The yearly price for Todoist Business increased from US$29/user/year to US$60/user/year (equivalent to US$5/user/month billed annually). The monthly price for Todoist Business increased to US$6/user/month.

Customers who upgraded to Todoist Business prior to December 1st, 2018 will have access to Todoist Business legacy pricing forever (US$29/user/year). Customers will only lose access to the legacy pricing if they cancel their Todoist Business subscription.

New Business project limits

For Business customers, we increased the limit from 200 to 500 active projects.

All prices referenced in this article are in US Dollars. When purchasing Todoist Premium or Business in foreign currencies, the price will be adjusted to the US Dollar equivalent.

FAQs

Q: Why have you adjusted the pricing?

A: This was our first step in a longer-term plan to make Todoist’s Premium and Business pricing structures much more simple and value-driven. We want to provide greater value to our free users from the moment they sign up, and then scale up access to the more advanced feature set for our Premium and Business users. The execution of this plan will likely take place in several phases throughout 2019.

We plan to roll out new plans and features in several phases throughout 2019, however, we will not make any further price modifications.

Todoist’s pricing structure and Premium plans have not changed since Todoist launched in 2007 and we believe that this evolution will provide all of our users much more value at what is still a very competitive price.

Q: You advertise the legacy price at US$29 but the legacy price in euro's is 32€. Shouldn't the price be around 25€ based on the real time exchange rate?

A: The difference in price can be explained by the fact that the EUR price includes VAT whereas the USD price does not. In addition, we don’t adjust the international pricing on a daily basis by real time exchange rate but rather on an annual basis. The overall reason for setting the price to 32€ is to keep our prices consistent across platforms and European countries.

Q: I subscribed to Todoist Business before December 1, 2018. If I add new members to my team, will I be charged at the legacy price or the new price for their subscription?

A: If you subscribed to Todoist Business before December 1, 2018, you will be charged the legacy price for every new member that you add to your team.

Q: I was on the Business plan and had to cancel my subscription to update my billing information. Will I be billed the increased price on my next invoice when I re-subscribe?

A: If you had to cancel your current Business subscription to update your billing information, you can re-subscribe within 30 days of the cancellation date to regain access to Todoist Business legacy pricing.

Q: I have a nonprofit discount applied to my Business account. Will these changes impact my price?

A: No. If your nonprofit discount was approved before December 1, 2018, these changes will not impact your price. You will have access to Todoist Business legacy pricing until you cancel your Business subscription.

Q: The education discount was applied to my Business account before December 1, 2018. Will these changes impact my price?

A: No. If your education discount was approved before December 1, 2018, these changes will not impact your price and you will have access to Todoist Business legacy pricing and the 50% discount until you cancel your Business subscription.
