VAT-exempt invoices and payments

VAT exemption is only possible for payments made in EUR, DKK, SEK, or GBP, for the companies that are registered in European Union or the United Kingdom.

Business plan

As a Todoist Business Admin, you can automatically get a VAT exemption for your payments and invoices. All you have to do is add your VAT ID and the associated address to your account before your next charge. Here’s how:

Users from the United Kingdom should  contact the Support team to add the VAT ID to their invoices. Please clarify if you require VAT exemption, or if it is simply for displaying VAT ID on your invoices. 
  1. Log in to your Todoist account on https://todoist.com.
  2. Click your avatar in the top-right corner of Todoist.
  3. Select Business Admin.
  4. Go to the Account & Billing tab.
  5. Fill in your billing address and enter your VAT ID.
If you did not provide a VAT ID prior to being charged and require a VAT-exempt invoice and refund, please contact our support team. Don’t forget to add your VAT ID before your next payment is due!

Pro plan

We currently do not offer an automatic VAT exemption for Pro plan invoices and payments. If you want your subscription and invoices to be VAT-exempt immediately upon payment, we recommend switching to a Business subscription instead. Once you’ve signed up for a Business subscription, please follow the above steps to add your VAT ID to your Business account.

VAT Refunds for Pro

If you’ve added your VAT ID to your Pro plan billing information, you are still eligible to receive a VAT refund for your Pro plan purchase. To request your VAT refund, please contact our support team.

VAT refunds are only available for Pro plan purchases made directly through our site. Unfortunately, we are not able to process VAT refunds for purchases made through the App Store, Google Play, or the Microsoft Store. To receive a VAT-refund for a Store purchase, please contact the appropriate vendor.
