You can also create your own sorting for your task lists by using Todoist's sorting options.

When you’re looking at a view in Todoist like Today or a filter, you may wonder how the tasks are ordered. Here’s a quick overview of how tasks are sorted in each view:

View Sorting
Today and Upcoming

Due time > priority > task creation date and time > project ID > task ID

In these views, tasks are Smart sorted by default and can be rearranged if they have the same priority and due time.

Label Priority > due time and date > project order > task order within their project
Filter

When using a filter without due date queries Priority > due time and date > project order > task order within their project

When using a filter with due date queries Due time > priority > task creation date and time > project ID > task ID

Project By default, tasks are shown in the order in which they were added. Tasks are sorted within each section, rather than across sections. You can change the order by sorting a project or by manually dragging and dropping your tasks.
When you enable sorting or grouping in your view, the tasks will be sorted by your selected criteria in ascending order by default, except sorting your tasks by Priority. In this case, the order will be descending, from P1 to P4. Reversing the order will only affect the primary sorting criteria, all secondary criteria will be sorted by default.
