Adding files and links to Todoist from your mobile devices

Whether you want to add an image, file, or link to your Todoist, you can do so without even opening the app. Here’s how: 

How to upload a file to Todoist:

  1. Open the photo or file that you’d like to upload to Todoist.
  2. Tap the share icon
  3. Select Todoist from the share sheet. 
  4. Enter a name for the task and select a due date and/or project.
  5. Tap the arrow icon to save your task. 

How to add a link to Todoist: 

  1. Open the link in a browser.
  2. Tap the share icon in the right corner of the address bar.
  3. Select Todoist from the share sheet. 
  4. Enter the name of the task and select a due date and/or project. 
  5. Tap the arrow icon to save your task. 
If the Todoist icon is missing in the Share menu, please restart your device and share a file or link again. Unfortunately, this is a known iOS issue where Todoist and other apps are missing from the Share menu. 

How to upload a file to Todoist:

  1. Open the photo or file that you’d like to upload to Todoist.
  2. Tap the share icon
  3. Tap the Todoist icon in the share sheet. 
  4. If you want to attach the file to an existing task: 
    • Select Add as a comment.
    • Select a project and pick a task. 
    • You can now add a comment.
    • Tap the arrow icon to attach the file. 
  5. If you want to attach the file to a new task: 
    • Select Add as task.
    • Enter a name for the task.
    • Select a due date and/or a project.
    • Tap the arrow icon to save your task. 

How to add a link to Todoist:

  1. Open the link in a browser. 
  2. Tap the address bar to highlight the link.
  3. Tap the share icon
  4. Tap the Todoist icon in the share sheet.
  5. If you want to add the link as a comment to an existing task: 
    • Select Add as a comment.
    • Select a project and pick a task.
    • Tap the arrow icon to add the comment. 
  6. If you want to add the website as a new task: 
    • Select Add as task.
    • Edit the task name and select a due date and/or a project.
    • Tap the arrow icon to save the task.
