Having trouble logging in to the Windows 10/11 app?

When logging in to the Windows 10/11 app, if your browser doesn’t redirect you back to the app after entering your credentials, please try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Make sure you’re using the latest version of the app

  1. Right-click the Todoist icon in the system tray.
  2. Select Quit Todoist. The new version will automatically be installed once the app is closed.

Check if pop-ups and redirects are allowed in your web browser

Since the location of these settings change frequently, please check your browser's help page for the latest means to enable pop-ups:

 

Temporarily change your default browser

Windows 10

  1. Select the Start button.
  2. Type Default apps.
  3. In the search results, select Default apps.
  4. Under Web browser, select a different browser.

Windows 11

  1. Open Start and click Settings.
  2. Select Apps, and choose Default apps.
  3. Search for a different browser and click on it.
  4. Then click Set default.

Uninstall the app and delete the cache

  1. Uninstall the Todoist app.
  2. Press Windows + R.
  3. Enter %APPDATA%/Todoist.
  4. Delete the contents of the folder.
  5. Reinstall the Todoist app.

None of the troubleshooting steps worked. What should I do?

Here's how to find your app version number:

  1. Right-click the Todoist icon in the system tray.
  2. The version number is right next to the View Changelog option.
