Troubleshoot login issues with Todoist for Windows

If you're logging in to Todoist for Windows, and your browser doesn’t redirect you back to the app after entering your credentials, try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Make sure you’re using the latest version of the app

  1. Right-click the Todoist icon in the system tray.
  2. Select Quit Todoist. The new version will automatically be installed once the app is closed.

Check if pop-ups and redirects are allowed in your web browser

Since the location of these settings change frequently, please check your browser's help page for the latest means to enable pop-ups:

Temporarily change your default browser

Windows 10

  1. Select the Start button.
  2. Type Default apps.
  3. In the search results, select Default apps.
  4. Under Web browser, select a different browser.

Windows 11

  1. Open Start and click Settings.
  2. Select Apps, and choose Default apps.
  3. Search for a different browser and click on it.
  4. Then click Set default.

Uninstall the app and delete the cache

  1. Uninstall the Todoist app.
  2. Press Windows + R.
  3. Enter %APPDATA%/Todoist.
  4. Delete the contents of the folder.
  5. Reinstall the Todoist app.
