2022 Todoist pricing changes

Over the 15+ years Todoist has been in business, we’ve only ever increased our prices two times. But in order to continue building a better product for you, we need to ensure that our prices can cover our rising costs. As a fully bootstrapped, independent company (with no investors or venture capital behind us) this balance is even more delicate. 

We therefore introduced new pricing on June 6, 2022.

What does this mean for existing subscriptions?

If you upgraded to Pro or Business prior to June 6, 2022, you will have access to legacy pricing forever. You will only lose legacy pricing if you:

  • Change subscription from Pro to Business (or vice versa).
  • Change your subscription from paying via our website to an online store (Apple's App Store or Google's Play Store).
  • Cancel your subscription.
  • Change the billing cycle between annual and monthly of your Business subscription. 
  • Let your Business plan become disabled due to unpaid invoices.

New prices

Pro plan

Annual subscription is US$48 per year (equivalent to US$4/month billed annually).

Monthly subscription is US$ 5 per month.

Business plan

Annual subscription is US$72/user/year (equivalent to US$6/user/month billed annually).

Monthly subscription is US$8/user/month.

FAQ

I subscribed to Business before June 6, 2022. If I add new members to my team, will I be charged at the legacy price or the new price for their subscription?

If you subscribed to Business before June 6, 2022, you will be charged the legacy price for every new member that you add to your team.

You advertise the legacy price in USD but why the legacy price in my local currency is higher when compared to the real time exchange rate? 

The difference in price can be explained by the fact that prices in countries in Europe includes VAT whereas the USD price does not. In addition, we don’t adjust the international pricing on a daily basis by real time exchange rate but rather on an annual basis.

My Pro subscription ends in 2022 and will not automatically renew. How much time after my subscription expires do I have to renew and keep my legacy price?

If you purchased Pro directly via our site and your subscription expires, you will have 30 days to renew your subscription (annual or monthly) and keep the legacy price. If you decide to resubscribe, you will be billed the legacy price for all future renewals.

If you purchased Pro through Apple's App Store, and your subscription expires, you will have 60 days to renew your subscription and keep the legacy price. If you decide to resubscribe, you will be billed the legacy price for all future renewals.

If you purchased Pro through Google's Play Store, and your subscription expires, you will have 30 days to renew your subscription and keep the legacy price. If you decide to resubscribe, you will be billed the legacy price for all future renewals.

Will I keep the legacy price if I change the billing cycle?

If you decide to switch the billing cycle of your Pro plan, you can still keep the legacy price. However, if you are on the Business plan, you will lose the legacy price.
