Use the Templates extension with Todoist

With the Templates extension you can browse, search, and import templates directly from within Todoist.

On top of that, you can use the Templates extension to import one of your existing projects as a template for a new project! Perfect for those meticulously created checklists, morning routines, and packing lists you store in Todoist.

Set up the extension

  1. Open the Todoist app.
  2. Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Integrations.
  4. At the top, click Browse.
  5. In the list of available integrations, select Templates.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Click Confirm.
When you run the extension for the first time, Todoist will prompt you to grant access to read and write application data.

Use the extension

Import from a template

  1. In any Todoist project, click the three dots icon in the top-right corner to open the project menu.
  2. Click Templates.
  3. Select Import from template.
  4. In the modal that opens, use the search bar to search for a specific template or scroll down to browse the list of templates.
  5. Select the template you want to import.
  6. Click Import template.

Import from one of your projects

  1. In any Todoist project, click the three dots icon in the top-right corner to open the project menu.
  2. Click Integrations.
  3. Select Import from project.
  4. In the modal that opens, select the project that you would like to reuse as a template.
  5. Click Import project as template.

Remove the extension

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Integrations.
  3. Click Templates.
  4. Select Remove.
  5. Click Remove to confirm.
